The FAA predicts 2.5 million drones to sell in total during 2016 (The Washington Post). More than a million of the 2.5 are predicted to sell during the Christmas season (KSNV News); twice as many as last year’s sales. The FAA predicts sales to double again next year with 4.8 million drones sold (Tampa Bay Times).
With sales number doubling every year it’s safe to say drones are going to be around for a while, becoming a normal part of our society. How much we integrate them is still to be seen though, with drone laws still in place banning drone deliveries. Major feats this year though included a quick online drone registration system (put in place last December) and creation of a simplified commercial drone test rather than the lengthy 333 exemption process.
